The Attitude of Gratitude

WANTED:

 HEARTS FILLED WITH GRATITUDE

We've heard it countless times before – when we have an attitude of gratitude, it changes our lives.  And according to psychologists, living a life of gratitude is a key component of HAPPY people.

Want to be happy?  Start your day with gratitude.

If we really stop and think about it, there are many things to be grateful for every single day.

Sometimes when we think we're having a bad day, we may end up talking to someone who is going through a trial or crisis that will bring us to our knees, knowing that their trial is HUGE in comparison to ours, which causes us to BE GRATEFUL for something that perhaps we were taking for granted..

We all face big challenges in our lives at times.  No one is immune from that.  And at those times, it's important to have encouragement and support from others.

It's just that sometimes it's easy to let the "little things" get in the way of simply being grateful for what we do have.   And when we take the time to daily write down those things we are grateful for, it can change the tone of our day and how we relate to others.

Recently I've been inspired by my friend Susan who motivates people to change their mindset.  I am now  starting each day with the habit of daily  writing down 10 things that I am grateful for.   I am also doing a lot more journaling in general.

After a weekend of being a little under the weather, I was reminded just how grateful that today I feel like going to work.

With Father's Day coming up, I always feel sad that my dad  and brother are no longer living, and then I realize how grateful I am that I had such special loving people in my life and many very happy memories.

This past year I've been introduced to some very special people who have taught me a lot about having a business from my home.  I am so grateful, knowing that this means I will soon have the time and money freedom to spend with my family and to do whatever I want, whenever I want.

I'm gratefuly to have a husband who supports me in my dreams, who encourages me and also helps by doing a lot of the things around the house that are hard for me to keep up with right now.

I'm sure that you also when you think about it will come up with dozens of "new" things each day that you are grateful for.

Taking the time to reflect on our day and our life will make a big difference in helping us realize our priorities and your blessings.

At this very moment there is a "movement" taking place across the country which will be rapidly moving to all parts of the world.

It's a movement  powered by SendOut Cards (click here to understand the vision) and shared by thousands of grateful people reaching out and expressing appreciation.  It's CONTAGIOUS!

The CEO of SendOutCards, Kody Bateman, had a vision which is becoming a reality.

We are all being challenged to bring others on board – START EACH DAY WITH GRATITUDE AND LET SOMEONE IN YOUR LIFE KNOW THAT YOU ARE GRATEFUL FOR THEM.

Won't you partner with us in taking the challenge, teaching it to others and living it?  We'd love to have you join us!

"Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it."

William Arthur Ward

You will be amazed at the way "giving" in this way will affect your life, helping you to become a happier, more thoughtful and compassionate person, while at the very same time touching hearts all around you.

Awesome stuff. If we can’t be trusted with little, why would we be given much? “trusted” included being grateful. If we aren’t grateful we don’t tend to take care of things/people/etc.

Carla, Simply go to http://www.30daysofgratitude.net — fill out the box & you will get an email from Jeff Packard which shows how the challenge is working. I know you already have an account. If you know others who want to join in, I’d love to help them set up an account and give them their first day of gratitude card “on me” … Let me know how I can help!! I also have an optin box on my website http://www.suegraber.com — which when they register there I’m going to send out tidbits of info on gratitude, encouragement, and also will link them into Jeff’s site…

Everyday is an opportunity to be grateful and a card is a wonderful way to do that. Also phone calls is another way. The attitude of gratitude is something that can be forgotten by some. Thanks Sue for sharing.

Great article! Growing up my Dad would tell us ‘gratitude is an attitude of the heart’…when we would say thank you he would sometimes follow it up with “Are you thinking thank you or feeling thank you” ! ha! As we got older it began to make sense!

I always liked the word “appreciation” more than “gratitude” – but the attitude is what counts most. When I appreciate what I notice, I feel as if I am basking in it! Today it was 72 degrees and sunny; as I sat in my favorite coffee shop, I heard people come and go and comment on this being on the best days ever. I felt as if each one of them was reminding me to look up and enjoy the gift of this day. And it worked beautifully.

Gratitude is something I always feel. Sure I slip but I believe I make up for it too…:)
Such a great message to send, and sending it in SOC is even better!

Glad you are enjoying them Norma… Let me know if you’d like any help. Going to do some “join.me” sessions coming up where I walk people through some of the system they may not be aware of!
