How’s Your Heart?

How's your HEART?

 I mean – REALLY  –

How is your heart????

PHYSICALLY…….

Are you taking good care of yourself so that your heart can perform at its optimum?  This means eating foods that nourish your body and are specifically good for your heart, exercising regularly, and making sure that your body gets the rest that it needs.

GOOD REST does not mean going to bed and hoping to get a good night's sleep.   It is important to "let go" of things that may be bothering you and simply "let God" take care of those issues.   A wonderful friend reminded me of that very thing many times:

Since God never slumbers, YOU can!!!

I am sure you would much rather fall to sleep naturally than relying on some "drug" to allow you to sleep.  I use Lavender essential oil and rub on my feet before heading for bed and it's wonderful how relaxing this can be.   Stay away from watching television, or spending time on the computer right before bedtime as this is stimulating and can keep you from falling asleep.

 ( I KNOW — THIS IS A HARD ONE!)*wink*

Try listening to some soft music, reading some inspirational or devotional materials, and one of my favorite ways to fall asleep is :

Instead of counting sheep,

 COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!

EMOTIONALLY…….

Are you reaching out to others in a way that reveals your heart?  Do you genuinely care enough for others that you are willing to serve them?  There are thousands of ways that you can share your heart with others.

Making a phone call to someone who is lonely is a great way to share your heart.   When someone comes to mind, simply send a note to them.   Most people do not take the time to do this for several reasons.  It is  time consuming, costly and inconvenient to run to the store every time you want to send a note of encouragement.

Thanks to the Internet, it is possible to  immediately send a personalized note (even including pictures), as well as a gift, if you so desire.  There is no excuse for NOT encouraging someone when you are prompted to do so.  This can take you as little as 5 minutes! In fact, if you want to, send a note to someon right now! This is my treat to you & that special person you are thinking about. If you can't think of someone who could use a note of encouragement, let me know.    I have a longggggg list I would be happy to share!

SPIRITUALLY……

Knowing that God loves you more than anyone else in your life (even your mama) :)  is mind boggling but TRUE.   "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16).   Wherever you may be in your spiritual walk, I'm here to tell you that God loves YOU, no matter what kind of baggage you may be carrying….  He wants you to turn to Him in times of joy and sorrow and He will give you a peace that surpasses all understanding….And PEACE is great for the heart!  If you  harbor any resentment or bitterness in your heart, it keeps you from having that peace.   A forgiving heart is a healthy heart!

Take a few minutes, read something inspirational and let's have a cup of coffee!

For sure I look to count my blessings all the time. Easy to look at “what if” but I look to be grateful behind what my naked eye sees. I am living in faith and in action today because of HIM. Thanks Sue for great post.
